Climate emergency: do we still need to innovate?

As part of his Building Beyond Festival, whose theme this year is “The Future of the Already,” leonard is organizing, in collaboration with Zenon and France Digitale, an evening debate on the role of innovation in the transition to a sustainable world.

Faced with the colossal work that will have to be done, it is undeniable that the way we produce and consume must be reinvented. During this discussion, we will focus on the role of innovation in building the sustainable world of tomorrow. Is it necessary to innovate to solve the problem of climate change? If so, what will be the role of this innovation, how can it be (re) defined, and how can its mechanisms be accelerated?

On the program, Zenon Research (François de Rochette) will offer a summary of the scientific literature on the role of innovation in net-zero scenarios, with a particular focus on publications from the IPCC and the International Energy Agency. A discussion will follow in the presence of various innovation actors (Laurence Petit - THAT, Julie Jouvencel - So Science, Denis Galha Garcia - Team for the Planet & Clara Audry - Jolt Capital), making it possible to discuss the efforts to be made to deploy the climate solutions already available as quickly as possible.
