About:

Presentation by Georgia Eriksen, Carbon Project Manager - Blue and Zenon Analyst and Aurélie Giraud, co-founder of LUM Transition and MECOA, a CSR consulting firm, a partner of the BPI on Impact diagnosis and certified B Corp, she leads with her group of experts missions to transform organizations towards sustainable models.

Sustainability reporting by EU companies suffers from a great disparity due to varying standards. In particular, this hampers the ability of investors to effectively assess climate-related financial risks. In response to this challenge, the EU introduced the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).

Entering into force in January 2024, the CSRD will gradually be imposed on various types of businesses. It will apply indirectly to SMEs and also to large non-European companies operating on the EU market.

The implementation of the CSRD will be gradual, with deadlines and support to allow the challenges associated with the acquisition of Scope 3 data to be solved.

The Dialogue will make it possible to analyze these changes and assess the state of readiness of businesses. (thanks to a database of more than 1600 listed companies, both within and outside the EU). It will also make it possible to explore the room for manoeuvre that companies have to comply with CSRD requirements and the areas where European regulations could have gone further.

Finally, The Dialogue will be an opportunity to show that beyond compliance, companies will also need to develop and display decarbonization trajectories. This requirement can make CSRD a real opportunity for companies to rethink their strategies and business models.
